AFFILIATESENSOR
Where To Get It: www.affiliatesensor.com
Price: FreeThis page shows an example of an AffiliateSensor vertical adblock. Go here to see a horizontal adblock. AffiliateSensor is one of the least expensive and easiest alternatives to Adsense. When you sign up you're taken to a page where you provide your vital information, such as ClickBank ID, and where you configure your ad blocks, and copy the resulting piece of Javascript. You then open your HTML file in a text editor and insert the Javascript, save it, upload it to your host and you're done. Being without any cost is an understatement. You don't pay for the program, and you don't pay anything for the adblock impressions. The people at AffiliateSensor make their money by sharing a small percentage of impressions to their own ClickBank account and to the account of whoever you signed up through. To sign up you just fill out a form with your email address, ClickBank ID and a password. Once again, if you don't have a ClickBank ID go here and get get one. It's free. (Okay, back to the AffiliateSensor signup page) Verify you have read their terms of service, and click the button at the bottom of the page. You will be taken to another page where you will... This is the "Affiliate Sensor Script Builder" page. At the top of the page it will display a block of ads, based on the default settings lower down on the page. Your job will be to modify those settings to make that block look the way you want. Keywords, or Best in Category? The settings start with two exclusive buttons. You can choose either the keywords button, or the "best in category" button. If you select keywords, you can enter them in the box below the button. If you select category, you can click on the drop-down menu and select the category your site fits in. Ad Block Style Then you choose the ad block style (various sizes of rectangles, banners, buttons and skyscrapers), and the number of ads per block. After that is the section dealing with the text and background colors and border styles. These particular shapes and sizes were chosen to mirror Adsense ad panel so you can use an Affiliatesensor panel to replace Public Service Announcment ads. Category Filters Then come category filters (which are only valid when you select keywords above). There are three drop-down menu boxes, and each has include and exclude buttons. This gives you the option to include or exclude up to three categories from which ads can be selected that match your keywords that you entered in the keyword box above. Load/Save Configuration This is where you specify a name for the configuration you just created, and then click SAVE to save it. There is a box called "description." This is where you type the name of the configuration to load or store. Also keep in mind you need to know the name of the configuration in order to load it. There is no list of stored configurations. And you must remember to save the configuration before you select and copy the script. If you don't, and forget to save the configuration, then it doesn't get saved on the Affilatesensor server and you won't get served ads. What Other Features Does This Feed Have? Ad Preview The ad preview pane at the top of the script builder page does a little more than simply preview the ad panel you've created. First, there is a number in parentheses at the end of each ad. This is the ranking for that product within its category. The lower the number, the better the rank, and the better the ad will convert. Then if you put your mouse over an ad's link you'll see the ad's rank and commission percentage. Then to remove any ad you don't want, just left click on it and click the "Reset Ignord Ads" link. So you don't have to accept the panel exactly as you see it. PSA-Replacement Code Checking the "Show AdSense PSA-replacement Code" box will show you a link in the code window that you can include in your adsense code as an alternate URL to replace PSAs. Autosensing Code Checking the Auto-Sensing Code box will add some code to your script that causes the Affiliatesensor server to read your page title and the contents of the H1 tags. If these two things are keyed to the content on your site then Affiliatesensor will get additional clues about which ads may be relevent.
